Future vs The End of the Road
HEY!
Much of this latest update was just unfortunately deleted, so let's start off with some pictures. This is of the beach where The Goonies was filmed near:
THERE IS AN OCTOPUS TREE:
IT GOT LIGHT
SEAGULLS ATE THE CRABS. I THOUGHT ABOUT EATING THEM TOO. ALSO, GUESS WHICH SIGN LOOKS VAGUELY SEXUAL:
PROOF OF COMMUNIST INFLUENCE: RECYCLING!
SEATTLE HAS SHUFFLEBOARD
I WAS GOOD AT IT
THIS WILDLIFE AREA WAS GROSS. IF YOU CAN FIND AN OCTOPUS YOU CAN KEEP IT BUT WE DID NOT FIND ONE
-------------------------------------------------
That was pretty much the part that got deleted. On the way back we were late for my friend's job so I got to drive very very fast on small winding roads in someone else's car. That was awesome. Good idea.
Also, Seattle was awesome. I attended the Northwest Socialist Conference there and heard many great talks and participated in many a thurough discussion about the political period we are living in, the economy, and the russian revolution. Dhar Jamal gave a good talk and I got to ride up with Dyrral from IVAW and he was one lively individual.
Now I am at the point where if I stay here a few more days I am going to need to get a job and start living. I can't live until March because of the tour so this makes things difficult. But I can't stay on a counch, being unemployed, just 'hanging out' forever. So I gotta get moving.
In my head were vague notions of SF-San Diego BUT, I've been to SF before, it's expensive, and I am trying to be economical. San Diego also just burnt down, and I'm not sure if what they need right now is me hanging out eating their food and sleeping on their couches, when so many couches are now tragically lost forever.
I've always been fascinated by the state of Nevada, and I think now is the best oppertunity I'll have to check it out. Nuclear testing, open range, the loniest road in America, the extra terrestrial highway, as well as ghost towns. I'm going to hang out in a ghost town and play the guitar. Because I am fucking goth.
After that it's death valley (also because I am fucking goth), and then Las Vegas, which I've heard is, umm... interesting. The craigslist for Las Vegas has more overt sex for money ads than any other city, so that is pretty cool. I don't have money to gamble but I do want to check it out, and see north las vegas.
So that um, is the plan. I'm sure I'll be seeing you all soon enough. By the way; everywhere I've been too is cooler than DC. If any of you are still living there after reading this, then I guess I've done all I can. But you're condemming yourself to a miserable life, whether or not you think it is miserable, it is. If you don't think it's miserable it's because you probably haven't much of a real frame of comparison. You should get one out west.
THERE WAS ALSO INSPIRED POEMS:
Poem1: Red Carpet Bomber
Suddenly, by common, mumbling
Unison: production.
Joy swept the comming of
Laughing, cynical nature.
Discontent, anger and revolt
Of previous necessity:
Service.
Knitting socialists
To fullfill a prophecy
Of a real totalitarian
Society.
----
Poem 2: "The Fog of Ruling Classes"
The fog of
Ruling classes:
Such a brutal
Nothing to gain.
Incompetence
To the End
Of Final Victory.
Standing on the head of
The will of
Motion.
Back to authority.
An end to the
Hands of
Power between
Realize
and
Blood.
The germ of power
No support.
For insurrection
Breaks with the masses.
Resistance,
Overthrow,
Introspective.
Pretty ineffective
Measures.
Hot sand drinks water
Insatiable.
The mud of desperate trenches,
Big goddamn
Strategy.
